My blog has been on hiatus and I am determined to get back into the swing of things.
I want to make my blog a quick and easy read so I am going to follow a straightforward format. I will do a quick review of restaurants, wines, races, and community events that I've been involved with or want to promote.
My goal is to help others find joy in food, wine, working out, community service, and good old fashioned neighborhood goodness.
Wine
Love, love, love the Whole Foods Market's Three Wishes wines (chardonnay, merlot and cabernet sauvignon) that are $2.99 bottle. I bought a case (half chardonnay and half cab sauv).
Working Out
If you have a chance to take a yoga class from Tearson Bickmore...do it. She's an excellent teacher -- both technically and spiritually. Great karma.
Neighborhood Goodness
We received an "unofficial" award for Best Backyard Lights in our neighborhood. Not sure who is behind this merryness, but we sure love it.
Just Show Up
Quit whining...and just show up! Get out and exercise and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Get involved with your community, your neighborhood, your friends. Get out and enjoy good food and wine. If you don't show up, you miss out.

For a better Auditorium Shores
My husband has been showing up A LOT lately. He is working tirelessly to help improve one of Austin's most important jewels: Auditorium Shores. He is working with the City Parks Dept. to help renovate this park and make it not only people-friendly but also dog-friendly.
He got started several months ago when he got fed up with people not picking up after their pooches. After recruiting some neighbor kids, he "flagged the turds" -- they placed 700 flags where poop had been left behind in the park.
Getting the attention of the City was easy. Now the hard part...working with all the different interests to clean up and beautify the park, coming up with some new dog rules for dog owners so they can continue to use the park but be mindful of their responsibilities, and raising funds to do all of this.
Kate Weidaw of KXAN did a follow up story today. You can watch it here: http://www.kxan.com/dpp/news/local/off_leash_dog_park_changes_in_talks
